Xenon LEDs DRL CCF

Ok, been searching around and can find references to some of the above but nothing addresses my specific question, so anyone able to help answer this?

I have a set of Xenons coming, and will fit these next week... I would like to take benefit of the signature LEDs as DRL.

Can anyone confirm that by enabling Xenons in the CCF, I will also then have LEDs as DRL, or do I need to also activate DRL or Scandinavian DRL or whatever?

Thanks for help! Thumbs Up

The signature LEDs (also known as fairy lights) are your sidelights. They are not DRLs. As far as I know there is nothing that can be configured that will make them operate as DRLs. The closest you will get is to drive round with the sidelights on (because that is what the LEDs are - sidelights) and they will kind of look like DRLs but of course your rear lights will be on as well.

The CCF settings for daytime running lights refers to the headlights being on permanently (because that is what the D4 uses as DRLs in countries that mandated them previously - like Canada and some Scandinavian countries).

Ok, thanks DT, that makes sense. I will have a play around with the CCF and see if anything configures the sidelights to act as DRL....

They used to, but now i reckon the DRLs would be sufficient.

Now most new cars - due to saving fuel - only operate some sort of sidelight during the day, and no rear lights either. In Denmark cars are ridiculously expensive, but due to tax breaks most small crXppy cars are cheap, and as such the roads are flooded with them (the trio of UP, Citigo & Mii, the trio of C1, 107 / 107 & Aygo as well as small Suzukis etc.) they don't have automated lights meaning most of the drivers - often women - don't know they are driving with just an led strip and no rear ligths, even when it's raining, foggy og during the evening / night. Censored Add that to the fact that they are often driven slowly 60-70 mph, that can make for some dangerous situation, when I come barging with 90 mph in the disco on the motorway Evil or Very Mad
As of next year, all cars with these types of light, need to have automated lights.

Maybe I need to ask better questions...

What I would like is for the fairy lights (sidelights) to be on permanently while driving, but switch off when the ignition is off.

Is there a setting in the CCF which achieves this?
