does anyone know the flight path for the vulcan. I will probably be at the steam gathering at Flookburgh( not that far from Bowness) on Saturday and I'm sure there could be hundreds of vantage points rather than be trapped in Bowness. Its a bitch of a road when there's tourists. I,m rather hoping that one of the displays at Flookburgh will be a trailered Merlin (working) and I think a Pegasus also working. Earplugs required.

Well just had a trip out to Carlisle Air field and saw the Vulcan do its fly past, the pilot kicked in a bit more power as he went over and the engines sounded great He also tipped his wing down and then power out west to drop into the lakes. Was very low indeed. We were stood next to the Vulcan XJ823 gate sentry they have at Carlisle Air field.
Just before that a Spitfire (PM631) and a Hurricane (PZ865) from the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight landed and taxied up to the pan, after the Vulcan had left the Dakota did a fly over with a loadie hanging out the side door waving. It also landed and taxied onto the pan where the crew then came over to the fence and handed out some colour booklets with all the aircraft and members of the flight in it. Couple of pics here.

Just got back from Windermere, what an incredible sight XH558 was, she completely stole the show. The sound echoing around the fells was memorable.
I have some video, will upload it later.
