XXV 1 reg? That’s my son-in-law’s FFRR
So pleased I got over 100 views and four great replies to my first post. This thing really works!
You asked for pix of my XXV. Well, below are a few of my XXV, plus one of my very first LR pictured in 1968, a 1963 swb Ser IIA 2¼ petrol HT, which confirmed my addiction to this British icon. I know we whinge and bitch about the bloody things, but really, when you’re sitting behind the wheel you don’t want to be anywhere else.
I also appear to have infected the family with my addiction too, as we currently have five LRs among us! Indeed the opposite registration number to mine, ie: XXV 1, graces an immaculate MY13 FFRR belonging to my son-in-law. So currently the family count stands at 2 x FFRRs, 1 x D4 XXV, 1 x FL2 and 1 x DS Lux. They are all used on and off road by boys and girls alike, for horsey stuff, shooting, towing, touring and long distance travel on business and pleasure. They get well used for everything for which they were designed and looked after by ‘non-stealer’ expert engineers locally, who know one end of a wrench from the other, and manage to confine their charges to the low hundreds £s rather than thousands and f up the car as a matter of course. .....Sorry edging into rant territory there.
Anyway, thanks for all your interest so far. I’m very impressed with DISCO4 forum.[/b]One Life... Get One!

Why would you openly post your reg number all over the internet for those who can't be arsed taking out insurance to see?
Just a thought. Maybe you should change your user name to Green John? Another thought. Mods:

Great photos and it’s great to have such a fleet in the family and how great to have XXV1 and 1XXV in the family too
I used to religiously blank out number plates for the first couple of years, but haven’t bothered for the last 12! 2011 - 2015: 3 x FL2

When i need a reg number when going on comparison sites for insurance (for young un's) i just go on ebay and pick a suitable car reg from there and try different ones to see which make and model would be cheaper for them.
So Reg numbers are easily available now if you have devious intent.
And, not to go off topic, nice cars

As easily available as looking in the supermarket car park? Being on the interweb doesn’t make them more stealable.

According to the 2014 XXV Brochure for the UK market, only Causeway Grey with Cirrus (pale grey) Windsor leather were offered. But there are obviously several Silver, Santorini black, and White XXVs with differing leather colours in the UK too. There were 1,510 XXVs made in total, of which only 216 were sold in the UK, so I’m thinking LR were putting a few options out there to ‘test the water’ with the press, etc. before the full launch? One Life...
