Yanny/Laurel - the latest silly media thing

Ok, when I listen to the sound clip I hear the beginning of Yanny and the end of Laurel. But then my ears are non-standard and I use a hearing aid in one ear. Taking out the aid doesn't make a difference. I've had several hearing tests and, from memory, I miss the top and bottom of the frequency range which is presumably why I hear both to some extent.

Anyway, here it is for those who have no clue about the whole thing:

Yanny for me Very Happy
When you are dead, you do not know you are dead. All of the pain is felt by others. The same thing happens when you are stupid.

It appears that the quality of your speakers makes a big difference too. Cheap little speakers (e.g. on a tablet) that lack base will give a different result to decent speakers which have more range. On my tablet, I get only yanny. On my PC I get the yanny/laurel duality. As the result you get is based on whether you hear higher or lower frequencies better, this is not surprising.

OK, that's weird. It played on the radio this morning, and I clearly heard Yanny. However, clicking that link above and listening on my PC headset, it is very clearly Laurel.

I think the comment above about speaker quality is very much at play.
 King of the typo.

MY11 D4 5.0 V8, Bournville, lots of goodies!

Now departed: '85 RR Vogue, '94 D1, '95 D1, '70 SIIA, '97 D1, '04 D2a. All V8, except for the SIIA - but that drank as much petrol anyway!

It's an internet virus!

The recording changes on a cycle. It depends where you start listening in the loop. I listened a number of times yesterday, and I heard it change from Yanny to Laurel after about 5 seconds on one occasion. Rolling Eyes

It's just designed to spread across the internet, which it's doing very well!
With 19.4million views, someone is making money as well!
