Yes...another been out in the snow thread !!! :+)
Sorry but i will have to jump on the bandwagon here and rant about how impressive the D3 is in these conditions 8) 8)
Had around 10" here the last few days, been out at every opportunity to play long way to work, long way back (read untreated, pretty remote B roads as opposed to the obvious , though largely boring A roads, which seem to be just cluttered with "normal " vehicles doing 25mph for some bizarre reason
Through the night last night a good 6 " or so fell on top of what was already there, and surprised most who woke up to it
Had a great drive to work this morning through a couple of villages that had been more or less cut off , bar proper 4 wheel drives and tractors.
Some fantastic scenery and not 1 other car to be seen for miles and miles 8) 8)
Came across plenty of virgin snow and some good deep stuff , popped her in to extended mode and off she went!!
I am surpised by the car every time i go out, not had any issues at all as yet , not even vaguely stuck at any point, have used GGS a few times but the most annoying thing about this setting is the LAZY throttle i appreciate why its like it but i keep forgetting how long the throw is and end up losing momentum after backing off, as i then dont push it far enough down again, or whilst setting off i push it , and for a split second think i am stuck , or in neutral
Its a shame you cant have the drivetrain changes, diffs etc, but with the standard throttle map, minor niggle but such is life.
Side steps are also mildly annoying as every time she has been left standing for hours, the snow/slush that is on them freezes and then stps the door opening, so have the clearing off as that to add to the setting off routine
So pleased also that i got the General AT's on a month or so ago, absolutely unreal grip/traction, and a real confidence booster when ploughing through some of the deep stuff, pulling onto snow covered verges to let other traffic by etc.
Roll on more snow, loving it so far , something i have never really said whilst in any other vehicle
Anyway, a few pics of the this mornings drive ,
Keep safe people, and keep enjoying the "bad" weather
