England 2005 Discovery 3 TDV6 SE Manual Tonga GreenDiscovery 3

Boring is no fun though Laughing

Took the Discovery to Essex today on chelsea tractor duties to get some fat b*st*rd clothes for me. Was surprised to see 46mpg coming up when cruising at 40 in 5th on a flat road going from Rayleigh to Grays.

England 2005 Discovery 3 TDV6 SE Manual Tonga GreenDiscovery 3

Yesterday was not without drama, Friday is planned to be a do SFA day, which may turn into washing the cars Laughing But yesterday, my AA app alerted me to the fact my MOT was due in 14 days Shocked This genuinely freaked me out as I had it stuck in my head that it was actually due in July. Not a clue as to why. But thinking the app must be wrong as on several occasions it has told me my some of my cars are untaxed even though they were and that MOT's had expired 5-6 months after passing a test Rolling with laughter So went on to another app just to double check, and sure as hell, the alert was correct, so a day that was set aside for me to rest ended up full steam ahead. A few minor repairs quickly done and a chat later had an MOT cancellation slot that I was able to fill. So with me thoroughly stressed out and convinced it would fail the MOT on something I missed. My Discovery passed its MOT with just 1 advisory Rolling with laughter I nearly fainted from the relief. However the tyres is very close to the limit so the Discovery is now parked up until 11 days time when I will be able to go and get it replaced. After that stress, I then got home to a letter from the hospital following my small operation last week, saying that they had been trying to call me all week. (They had, I just avoided the call as I didn't want to have to go back in), turns out that there is a serious suspected issue and that they have got me in for tests dead early on Saturday a long with a surgical slot as a precaution for the same day and have been advised to take an overnight bag Shocked I can only assume it's something to do with blood coming out places it shouldn't and agonising shooting and stabbing pains I have been having that have gotten worse daily. Have been told if it gets unbearable to just get an ambulance, but to try and rest as much as I can. And of course being told to do something for some reason usually gets the opposite response if I have a bee in my bonnet. And I do. Very please that my Discovery now has just over a years MOT though. This has given me more confidence and motivation to keep the Discovery and tinker with it.

But until that tyre is replaced, I am back in the Meriva Laughing I did hate the gear box on it, but now I am used to it, I don't mind driving it. Hoping it finds a new home ASAP though as I want to use the money from it on the green Discovery.

Also have been leant a GAPIID Bluetooth Pro to play with for the weekend, so as long as I don't end up stuck in hospital, I will be playing with it and seeing what other features I want to activate, I wish the Blue D3 was here as well as I would also be activating lots of features on that one as well Laughing so might have to borrow the GAP again.

Ignored doctors advice of no strenuous activities before tomorrow, and really regret that decision. But the cars are clean on the outside at least. Had planned on giving the Discovery a deep clean inside before tomorrow so it was done ready before I can use it again. Never mind. On a positive note, the Agila might be rehoused by the end of the day. In the middle of sorting a deal out with a 2007 Audi A4 Estate. As long as the Audi doesn't have an electric handbrake, That may end up being kept. But being sensible, should really be sold on.

Hospital was complicated but out the same day as the specialist was off and not able to check test results so was told to rest until they called for me to go back in. So resting lead to a busy week Rolling with laughter

Anyway, just to confuse those who follow my threads..........

I have another new toy in addition to the Discovery Rolling with laughter

Finally found someone who loved the cute Agila Laughing It was a great car, but now it's someone elses great car, and my partner landed a bombshell on me today, he like the Meriva, so I handed him the keys and told him to take it for a drive as it has a gearbox he has never used before, he came back with a smile and told me I am allowed my Freelander back now Rolling with laughter BUT because I now have the Golf GTi, The Freelander is for sale. So the Meriva is no longer for sale, the Agila is gone thank Censored and I feel less stressed.

The GTi is a big project though, missing rear caliper 1 side, seized the other, long list of other little faults to add to the list, and I picked it up with the mind set of get, fix it, sell it on. But I fell in love with it.

The Discovery since being MOT'd has not been used, but from next week I will be back in it full time as my daily again. I do miss driving it, but recently every outing has involved either taking the Agila for a viewing or final jobs on the Meriva.

After a long hard day, the GTi is home Very Happy After discs, pads, calipers and brake fluid. But brought it home on trade plates as I am not happy using it on the road yet without further work, so the Meriva has been kicked off the drive and the Golf has taken its place. I should have the tyre done in a few days on the Discovery so that will be back as a daily driver again, once the Freelander is sold, I will start getting the Discovery and Golf sorted. Really need a heat wave for a couple of weeks though so I can get on with some jobs.

I am starting to feel a bit frustrated and feel very conflicted. I want to keep all the cars I have right now Rolling with laughter But know I can't. Had an offer on the Freelander yesterday which I accepted, arranged a time for today and nothing! So an hour after the buyer was due, I text them asking if they were still coming, nothing, an hour and a half I ended up sending this....

But on a positive, I had to dig out the cleaning stuff to wash and clean the Freelander out so I got on top of cleaning the other new toy (Golf).

But relying on the money from the Freelander to cover a repair bill I owe for and to get the Discovery back on the road into daily use. I don't understand why people can't simply say, sorry I am running late or sorry, I have changed my mind. When I am buying something, if I am going to be late, I freak out and I make sure I message the seller to let them know. Rant over. But feeling frustrated at the moment. Although Wednesday I will be able to get the Discovery sorted either way. Just wish people were brought up with Decency and Courtesy. And as the weather is now improving greatly, I am planning on getting the scratches filled in.

Didn't realise how much I have become attached to my Land Rovers until yesterday, Sold my Freelander TD4, Deeply regret it, but now I can get my Discovery sorted again. I will be getting a replacement tyres after I have been to bed either today or tomorrow. So for now have been doing headlight restorations and getting bookings in for that job. The Golf now has headlights with visible indicators and actually lights the way ahead Rolling with laughter

I have really missed driving the Discovery though.

I am on the hunt for another little project as well as a quick flip as I have a few projects I need to get money together for.

I didn't change the headlights, I used the Autoglym headlight restore kit with drill sanding attachments Rolling with laughter

I have now made the Golf fully road legal too, got a set of Audi wheels for £100 with near new tyres on them. But as of today I have been using my Discovery to do all my journeys and to go to each client until I got home, then changed the wheels and wiper blades on the Golf. Tomorrow I am also viewing another car Laughing

Golf's misfire is diagnosed as a timing issue. Usable as is, will get it sorted asap. But have now agreed a deal on another project Laughing A car I thought I would never own or buy, but this is to fund my Land Rover habit, I am now working towards getting the blue Discovery fixed and on the road.

I am still waiting for proper good weather to get on with more jobs on the Discovery though.

A friend treated my car to a professional valet outside, and now the beast has had a stage 2 remap. What a powerful monster this remap has unleashed. I have been using the Discovery lately as my main car for running around and for getting to and from a new part time job to keep me occupied.

Next Saturday, I am putting the beast on the ramps and will be fitting the decat pipe I have for it.

There is a cat on the 2004-2009 TDV6 Discovery, just not a DPF on the earlier ones. Mine is a 2004 which does currently have a Cat, but has never had a DPF and soon won't have a cat on it either.
