2006 SE TD 2.7 V6 - engine oil leak need more information

Hello Everyone, this is first post as I'm trying to buy a Disco which I always wanted. I can see from trawling the net that there are lot of topics about various oil leaks from engine with the most dangerous being the one from crankshaft seal. Land Rovers are all new to me but I'm generally mechanically orientated. So I just have a quick question. When test driving the Disco tonight I noted a slight smell of fumes / oil when stationary. After a test drive I went to check the underbody which was great to my happiness. However I noted an oil leak which looked like very fresh engine oil coming from somewhere like back of the engine on the nearside. It was definitely fresh oil as there was no dirt stuck to it yet. No signs of historic leaks. I could not see anything from the top after opening the bonnet as clearly there is not much room there to see anything. But anyway, everything looks dry on top and the side as far as I could see. Could someone point me in the right direction? The seller looked genuinely surprised and said he would take it to his garage tomorrow to get it checked. I just don't want them to tell me some BS. He mentioned that they were recently changing oil in front diff but I don't think it is related at all. Any helpful info will be greatly appreciated. I really love this car and hoping to buy it.

Common area for rear leaks are engine oil cooler which is in the middle of the valley, rear camshaft seals, valve covers and rear main seal.
First 2 are the most common so you'll need to trace where the oil is coming from to determine which seal is leaking.
Rear cam and rear main seals are the hardest to replace.

Someone else has bought it not being bothered about the leak at all. I wish him well...

Thanks everyone for quick and constructive replies. I will keep looking from now on. I fell in love with it
