255/55/19 Goodyear MTRs Tyre Pressure Advice ?

Hello Chaps ,

The above tyres were fitted to my D3 and were inflated to the following...

Front 30psi

Rear 33psi

Just wondering what other users of this tyre have the pressures set at?

Thanks in advance Thumbs Up

Devonchilliman

P.S. mainly road use

Censored me Del....that's a touch high on the back isn't it?

I've got MT/Rs on mine (for the last month) and now use the following after a couple of days playing with the pressures.

Normal driving: 36 front + 39 rear

Towing the boat: 38 front + 42 rear

It is an ISTR, after a similar thread ages ago. We need the definitive "best" numbers from AndrewS. Whistle

Thumbs Up

I used to run my AT2s at around 2-3 psi above standard and they were much better this way.

Let's wait for AndrewS to "fill us in"......that is if Del's rear tyres don't explode first Laughing

Ahh...just seen your sneaky edit...ok - 42psi seems much more reasonable Bow down

Hope MTRs don't explode as they'd make one hellova mess in the dining room! Shocked Shocked

Come on Del ...where's the obligatory "tyres in the dining room" picture ? Whistle You are slacking Laughing

I ran my MTR's at 40 ish all round...I find this gives and extra 2 mpg without significant loss of handling. Back on my road tyres at the moment ...it's just too quiet Sad

That picture is having a rest!! Don't want to wear it out. Tyres are now waiting a van lift to a garage not far from you (KT11), just a minor matter of exchanging contracts. Whistle Whistle

From the postcode I just found the garage you're talking about on Google Earth.

I reckon with a good clean up and a bit of pushing and squeezing, you should be able to fit the main bulk of your tyres in there:

Wow thats a big difference to the pressures that are in mine Surprised

Will the higher pressure make a difference to road noise?

If so, In what way

Thanks again Thumbs Up
