2.7 TDV6 plastic water coolant neck in the valley part numbe |
|
When changing the timing belt in the 2.7 TDV6, according to Roverworks <http> the plastic water coolant neck in the valley. Is anyone able to please confirm the part number for this as it is not listed in the Timing Belt parts and associated bits Stick Thread <https>? I believe it may be LR073372?

Hi, You don't need to change that when doing a timing belt change, although they do leak sometimes.
That is the correct part number, although Landrover don't supply the o ring that fits it to the fuel cooler, (only a complete cooler!). You can get the o ring from Citroen/Peugeot, part number 198171
regards

In Auz they make a metal version, at about £300.
i've seen it on ebay.
over the top though, as a new plastic one should last the life of the car

Thanks for that. I guess since the price of the part is fairly low, seems to have a failure rate and I assume is accessible while doing the timing belt it’s worth doing then. Handy tip about the o-ring, thank you.
The metal ones look good but can't justify that expense when it would long outlive our time with the vehicle.

Well it’s always accessible
The advantage is you have to disconnect and part drain the coolant so good Ida from that point of view.
On the other hand, if you are doing the oil pump too I think you have enough to do as it is without adding to it!

Does any one knows, what is the torque spec for the 4 bolts for LR073372 - the plastic water connector? Thanks,

Check out https://www.disco3.co.uk/forum/post2103191.html#2103191 . Found the info in my 11 May 2011 5,528 page PDF manual for the D4 which includes the early base spec models that were fitted with the 2.7 TDV6 engine. Mine - modified MY03 LT L318 Discovery 2a HSE Td5 15P
