5oo Miles, Never!!
While traveling back for London, I get the BONG!!
(so used to them now)
Look at the dash and I've worn the brake pads out( Amber light and on screen display)
Nip to the rims and yes the car was right ( looks like the rears are at about 3mm or so the front at about 5mm )
This was Saturday night, So I call the Stealer today the earliest they can book me in is 21st may.
Nightmare!
I ask the Stealer If that's the earliest possible, as the light is on and the dash display,
They responded with, if the lights just come on then you should be OK for 500 miles,
Now as it happens I had done the return journey which has spent 172 miles plus a few more getting burgers for the BBQ yesterday
Does anyone know if this true, I'm assuming that they assume I don't, brake heavy, travel very fast, or even tow, let alone carry a loaded car of Kids
So let all assume I run the car sensibly and use me head and not my right foot (not holding anyone responsible)
Will I get a hundred or so out of them
I can take Bets if you want 110 XS Utility

Almost certainly - assuming you have checked ALL the pads, just bear in mind you get no further warning before metal meets metal. I would have thought though that you could easily work out how many avg miles per mm of pad wear you have done to date (think the pads are 6-7mm or so thick when new). Conversely if you wore through the remaining pads in less than 500miles then you'd only get 4000-5000 miles from a set which seems V low....Cheers

Simon, you could try a good independent or even one of the big tyre places that do brake pads too. Most seem to be able to do D3 pads and also have the sensor wire... standard affair I think.
Else call round a few dealers and haggle prices at the same time.

You should be a be very happy customer .
I phoned my stealer on May 6th and the earliest possible day was June 6th.
I needed a check before my guarantee expires on May 25th.
Furthermore, to check the car, I should leave the car with them for four or five days and if they would find something to be repaired, we would agree on a future term to execute the repair .
My car was in their garage April 7th morning to April 11th evening with two requests:
- solve the alarm problem (TSB LA419-004V2)
and
- general checking before warranty expires.
5 days wasn't enough for them and they only solved the first request....

looking at those pictures the one i changed on mine where a little bit thinner and had done 24000 but i would say that 2500 to 3000 was towing a caravan and the rest very mixed over the last 18 months and the previous 6 months it wasn't mine so no idea of the usage.Tintenter

Remember there are other post on here referring to pads sticking causing premature wear. So mileage will vary on driving style and potential for brakes sticking. I have done 32k with no need to change pads - mostly motorway miles.2016 D4 Landmark
