Auxiliary Heater Unplugged....

Hi All, so shortish story.... wife tried to start up the Discovery 3 and wouldn't tick over at all.... nothing. So I popped the bonnet to check battery etc as this has been an issue previously. All fine.... noticed 3 clip connectors all disconnected to what I thought was a starter motor. Clipped them all in and voila all working again. I have later realised its the auxiliary fuel burning heater. So I'm guessing a total coincidence that it started once all plugged in? My worry is that I have plugged it in and it was already unplugged for another reason? Could these being unplugged effect starting up the car? Cheers John

Well I guess the previous owner unplugged it for a reason
So you may want too as well
It will try and start at below 5C when the engine started

Hi,
pour yourself a beer, turn the TV off, sit down and have a read of the FBH thread
(it may take some time )
the FBH should be working and helps the engine get up to temp quicker and keeps helping it if moving slow or short stop start trips, I don't understand why peeps unplug them if they stop working they normally lock out anyway so why unplug it
ISTR some unplug them as "they keep running" if the engine is not up to the required temp its still running to help it get there, pull up at the shop on way to work and it fires up again, yes its still trying to help !
plug it back in and see what happens, you can rig up a simply lead and use free software from here to check what its doing and test it.
