Hi Pete
I'm really interested in this, but would like to know whether you have a kit 3 planned that will allow the blowers to be turned on at the same time. I think this would be really useful as it would be great on those frosty mornings to have the car fully defrost itself! Is this something you have planned or is a D4 version your next port of call?

i believe there is a out put on the circuit board that's already in kit 1 that provides a triggered ground and that as 2 option.
first option as an example you could connect to a buzzer to let you know that you pressed your fob.
second option is in the last 5 mins of the fbh running it will constantly trigger a ground which could be used to trigger a relay which you could connect to say your fans or your heated screen.
but i,m sure pete can bring some more to this later

Thanks Geoff, that sounds very interesting. The only bit that concerns me is that I have a recollection that the LR system is a bit more awkward and might have a hissy fit if the fans are not controlled by the HEVAC system.... but as you say, I'm sure Pete will be along soon with a more scientific answer!

Thanks Geoff for posting in my absence.
Im finalising the function list over the next fea days while im at the Stoneleigh Show. The units are now available as most will have read in this thread and ill edit my own original thread to say the same.
Here is a snippit of the instructions and innfo ill be providing online.
DIP switch 2 off: sir/aux line grounded briefly twice when FBH is started and once when it stops, intended for controlling an external indication buzzer or bleeper
DIP switch 2 on: sir/aux line will be grounded for 5 minutes at the end of a timed run, provided that the car voltage is above 10.2 volts AND the temperature before the run was 3 deg C or less, intended for a circuit to control EG heated front screen via suitable (not supplied) relay and wireing.

Hi Robbie.
The fitting is easy and should only take you 5 mins.
The Red wire with the m8 ring terminal on will fit on the battery clamp as shown in this picture.

The black GND with the m6 ring terminal on goes on the inner wing GND post as in picture below.

The Green wire with the female pin on goes in socket or pin location 2 of the FBH plug.
The Brown wire is an antenna for the RF module and just lays in the battery box.
The pilp is already paired to the rf module so you dont have to do anything else its ready to go.
Im glad you like how compact it is, it took some working out to fit all we needed into the small 54mmx80mm box, we managed it by putting the RF module flat under the main pcb which is only 50mmx55mm total so to keep space down and utlise the 23mm box hight we had available.

Hi all,
Received my final production unit of the BAS FBH module today(thanks Pete)
So i'll hopefully fit it tomorrow, already removed my existing Webasto timer and GSM unit and pics below show the two side by side!!

Quite simply until now there has never been such a user friendly FBH module available thats simply plug and play, the webasto and Danhag units whilst do the same/similar job of firing the FBH heater at will,they generally aren't quick install units!
I know Pete & co. have put many hours into there BAS unit to make it simple and effective,so BIG Thanks Pete, and i'll only edit this post if it don't work

I am thinking of buying this kit. Could you explain why you choose to ditch the Danhag solution? You write " the webasto and Danhag units whilst do the same/similar job of firing the FBH heater at will,they generally aren't quick install units!"
I probably missed some points but what I have picked up:

+ Intelligent, meaning that it will handle faults that will otherwise stop the unit
Danhag
+ GSM module available
+ Will operate the fans (big plus to me)
- Harder to install

functions of our kit 1 as standard are
East basic 3 wire install
RF plip start stop as standard
Faullt code read/clear
3 times start attempt if fail to start (other units are only 1 try)
Fuel pump prime via special plip sequence
Automatic cut of when engine is started
Out put for ING start cutoff (option selected on pcb by dip switch setting)
Lock and unlock the car without the heater stopping
30 min or 45 min run time
Output on pcb that will let you connect relays for fans etc etc, it can also be used for a buzzer that will buzz when the plip is pressed.(option selected on pcb by dip switch setting)
Future GSM and firmware is upgradable

OK,
1st i don't have a Danhag system but i do know they aren't a plug and play unit and aren't for the faint hearted when it comes to cutting into the OEM loom to make the fans work!
2nd The BAS unit WILL have as an add on option a GSM module
3rd The BAS unit has an output on the board that could run a relay set up for additional function such as "running fans" but i believe as this is not straight forward thats down to the end user to figure out(get connections wrong could be disastrous for the HEVAC system on the D3!
My current experience was with a Webasto timer and separate GSM module which worked ok but certainly is not as intelligent as the BAS unit plus the BAS unit has spent a lot of time in development covering all angles to make sure it does as it says on the tin!!

Sorry Darrell, small corrections regarding the Danhag kit.
1. The basic kit, with the same function as the BAS kit, exept that is GSM instead of remote, is just as plug and play as BAS's, it gets more complicated if you want the fans/vents control, extra module, then it involves cutting the loom.
2. Danhag is already GSM
3. Same on the basic Danhag kit.
Not commenting on on the intelligence of BAS kit and its development, but my experience with BAS's remap kit and support is totally positive, so I'm sure his kit will work as advertised.
Not trying to sell the Danhag kit, just a clarification.
