Back in the saddle
Well I’m back in the club having just purchased Chris’s very nice D3 (credit to you).
As per normal I have a list of upcoming mods, so small stuff first with a full set of rubber mats to keep the floor clean, a rear roof cargo tray from Bearmach, towing electrics and towbar, D4 steering wheel and D4 wiper stalks, genuine LR raised air intake (thanks Matt) and a set of extended roof rails (when they arrive)...and an alloy sump guard (not sure if that will go on as it’s for the winch fitment so may be up for grabs) ok so that’s week one
And a trip to see Mikey (when he’s back open) for a full service and health check....
Also check my garage to see what else I have to fit from Dels collection of parts...
Will post some photos of the mods when completed...I want to see the sweets before I get into your windowless van... I'm not stupid!

Well that’s the rear shelf added, not very impressed with the finish though, required numerous touch ups where the paint was peeling or scratched and 4 out of 7 holes needed retapped... Bearmach did give me some credit but the QA process needs some attention ☹️
Also fitted the towbar electrics (and they worked first time!!) and received my Ctek plug in charger from Martin so thanks for that.... will now put the battery on “conditioner”...
Loosened off the short roof rail bolts in prep for the extended rails arriving later today..
Also ordered a sump guard and spare wheel protector from Uncle Ray along with numerous other bits from various forum members...I want to see the sweets before I get into your windowless van... I'm not stupid!

Extended roof rails fitted, all went smoothly other than finding a blanking plug in the forward screwhole.. easily sorted... a few other small mod like changing the bulbs in the courtesy lights to led.. amazing difference !
Fitted the tow bar storage cradle this afternoon, what a faff trying to get that in, ended up just about removing the rear panel as couldn’t get enough room to slip the lugs under the carpet... ordered some small parts, door stops etc... and a lot of cleaning (not that it was dirty but it’s cleaner now)... 😁I want to see the sweets before I get into your windowless van... I'm not stupid!

Well, given the weather today, the only option was to sit in the car with my new IID and have a play
After spending some time reading the very helpful guides, and hooking up the car to the Ctek, I now have flashed and upgraded the BCM and installed the ICP 07+ as well activating the clock on dash and also the 3 flash indicators, and also the towing pack... very pleased with my day's efforts
Also installed a Travall dog guard but will almost certainly revert to the original LR one as soon as I get chance...I want to see the sweets before I get into your windowless van... I'm not stupid!

Looks great, I’ve just put extended roof rails on mine and have taken delivery of new black steps today. Hopefully fit them tomorrow.
