Fitting jue000505

Hi guys, about to order this part but one thing is really confusing me. The pictures if this part show two parallel pipes. To my mind, if I'm blanking off the rear evaporator, I need one pipe to make a loop to join the ends of the pipes (which *would* have gone to the rear) somewhere near the front? See what I mean? Where do the two pipes in jue000505 go from/to and how does that bypass the rear evaporator? Thanks (just don't want to order the part and not know what I'm doing with it).

Not having done this myself, I would assume you are removing the T sections of pipe that feed the rear unit, ie you are removing 6 unions and replacing with 4 unions?

Curious

Just wondering if anyone had tried having a sealant injected into the aircon? My daughters fiesta had a leak and I took it to a local specialist, not just kwik fit. He did a great job and introduced a high tech sealant and we havent had a problem since.

Might be a daft question (they often are from me)... What's the effect of bypassing the rear a/c? I'm assuming the front will continue to work fine. But how about the vents to the middle row - is that fed from the front as well?

For the four days of the year where it's a bit warm, it's hardly worth replacing the pipes to the rear, so if it makes sense to blank off and use just the front a/c to cool off me and a couple of passengers - that'll do great.

Just fitted the bypass pipe, took around an hour very straight forward using the guide, all bolts are 8mm with the exception if the nut holding the clamp onto the side of the suspension turret of course its very difficult to see and a bit footery to reach.

Pic of the offending nut

So I have just done this repair as my rear pipes were shot. Big thanks to the original poster for this as it really helped me out. May even do an up to date write up as I have lots of photos if anyone is interested..
