BMW N47 Piston Rings for 306DT GEN2

Hey Guys,

i am rebuilding ATM a 306DT (GEN2) with GEN2 Pistons.

Wanted to install new Piston Rings and the mess started!

Nothing to get there. Only SM (Germany) and they don`t fit, they have a fabrication issure (had a call with the R&D of them)

Goetze is no more producing them (Since 6 months no Piston Rings to get (Part Number 08-439100-10))

Mahle got GEN2 Rings not in their program. They have only GEN1 Rings in their program.

Now I hear of several guys using BMW N47 Piston Rings from Mahle or Götze for our GEN2 engines.

Got the same Specs (Bore/Heigh).

The Geometry and Material of first compression Ring is identical.

The Geometry of second compression Ring is slightly different. Meterial is the same.

The Geometry of oil scraper is the same, only slightly different Material.

Gap?!? Will have to take a look if its okay. Stock is around 0.75mm on first and 0.3mm on second comp Ring.

What you guys think? Or are there good rings available? I`m located in Germany.

Buy them from ford in the USA.

Go to tasca parts, search for a ford f150 king lariat 2019 3.0 v6 - it’s the same engine.
 Series one 1949 - in bits, chassis is strapped to the ceiling in my garage (beside the canoe)
LR 90 - In bits
Disco 3 - currently in bits
