Brakes - at the point...to V8 or not to V8...

Gents
I am at the point of having to do the business (yet again) on my D3 brakes
I will be going to V8 on the front & maybe the rear...& have the choice of kits from AF
Front
Brembo £268
TRW £236
Borg & Beck £190

Rear
Brembo £210
TRW £200
Borg & Beck £156

has any body any views or facts on the makes advantages (if any)
other than cost..
I could defer spending over £100 by buying Borg & Beck over Brembos ?
- It would appear the TRW & Borg & Beck have anti corrosion coating (that maybe prevents the not wear part from looking like a rusty battleship after two weeks
- Are the pads that much different ?
I see some have gone V8 disc & then Yellow stuff pads

& if I go the V8 front disc route....can I fit Brembo six pot callipers at the front with my D3 19" wheels ?
 BREXIT - done properly.

Personally I'd have the ones that are at least painted. I've got the Trw ones on mine, anti corrosion paint around the not wearing parts is still going strong.

I've also got a set of borg&beck disks front disks but haven't put them on yet. Will spray them with high temp paint before I use them. Thumbs Up

IMHO, don't go for budget pads. Defeats the purpose of a brake upgrade Thumbs Up

I use OEM Ferodo pads when fitting my V8 upgrades Thumbs Up

6 pot calipers won't fit under 19" wheels, but the 4 pots will Thumbs Up

That's odd. In 55k miles, mine never squealed once Rolling Eyes
And my current 6 pot Brembos don't squeal either

You had best write to JLR + Brembo, and tell them there is a fundamental flaw in their designs

I took advantage of the recent 20% discount on Ebay recently. The kit I got was OE Discs, genuine carriers and Mintex pads. So far so good, but in my neck of the woods (lots of traffic) you probably don't see the true benefit of the up grade. Slowing down from 5mph to zero doesn't really test them Rolling with laughter

Are yours the four pots I have fitted Brembo upgrades to cars many times not landys and have found quickly they build up brake dust and squeal even if you steam clean the brakes it returns shortly after wards mind you saying this I have replaced my pads recently and they are ok I do not think it is worth the extra money for Brembos when TRW or Borg and Beck are just as good.

The standard, and even V8 setup is nowhere near comparable to the Brembo setup Confused

Got....

All the bits today from AF in two very heavy cartons all checked out ok....shiny metal to put onto "the Mistress".....
I didn't realise that rear brakes are a bigger diameter than the front even on the V8 set up....you learn something every day.
Thanks to AF for the Disco site discount....

Brake booster upgrade

Hi guys
a guy here from Norway is braging after he upgaded his brake booster to a RRS B.B.(SJG500260) so wonder if some one have tried , there is to options as i see it, the normal one for RRS :SJJ500070 or there is another one that is for the RRS`s with Brembo`s:SJJ500080 or the one for TDV8:SJG500260 Don`t know if the one for Brembo Brakes are a straight bolt on, as the other one is, or if it will be better so have some tried?

Ok Mikey, sounds good , which of them you got? And would it benefit to use the one for the Brembos since the one for the Tdv8 helps so much ?
