Bye bye NFU!
Well after insuring happily with NFU for soe time now I can safely say I won't be renewing with them this November
They have just migrated to a new system which has re-banded all cars into different classifications and the result is an increase in premiums this year of 20-30% for most policyholders according to the lady I spoke to yesterday. She said that everyone she had told this too recently had cancelled and gone elsewhere but they had been undercharging for a long time and now needed to 're-align' whatever that means.
A real shame as the service from them has been excellent but their prices now are so far off the mark, renewal quoted at £890 compared to £560 via confused.com2020 BMW X1 18d XDrive X-Line Auto

I'm sure there are plenty of other cheaper providers and have only just started looking so don't need recommendations thanks as there are loads of threads about insurance (no offence meant by the way).
Just alerting other NFU policyholders as I thought it was a bizarre thing for them to do if the reality means a big loss of policyholders.2020 BMW X1 18d XDrive X-Line Auto

Funny, my premium went down. Have full no claims and they applied a loyalty discount this year.

Coincidentally, I spoke to them this morning (been trying to turn the D3 into a D4 on their system as well as on the drive!) and was told my renewal in January would be about £600 vs £530 last year, which doesn't sound much more given the difference in the vehicle. This is NFU Direct though - don't know if OP has been talking to them or a local agent, the prices and flexibility seem to vary somewhat between the two

We have changed the wifes Mini over to Sheila's wheels from NFU. It was significantly higher on the renewal last month.
Also changed my son's Fiat from NFU, as they increased his premium even though he had a years no claims.
My D3 is up for renewal at the end of next month, so will be looking carefully.

Same here. Mine's due for renewal Nov. & increased nearly 50%. Aviva have quoted £200 less for same cover.

Mine went up by £150 this year
Gave them a ring and told them i had found it cheaper .They knocked £120 off and through in rac cover ( with relay ) so i stayed with them as LR assist had just run out .G4 Gone ...but not forgotten

My D1 and D3 are with NFU on a single policy which is due for renewal quite soon.
When I went with NFU I could have got cover elsewhere for quite a bit less than NFU wanted. However, apart from LR Insurance, I couldn't find anyone else who provided proper off road cover.
