c1130-66 and c112f-72 ....and suspension amber light |
|
Hi all, as the title says, the amber suspension light came on both on saturday and sunday. While the light was on the suspension could still go up to offroad height or down to access mode and vise versa.
When you swich off and then back on, the light dissapears. It can appear after a few hours of driving, or even a few days later.
Any ideas?

Did some reading and im a bit confused. Is there a difference between corner valves and valve blocks? Should i be checking on these? where are these corner valves?

For c1130-66 the diagnostic tool says repeated or frequent level activity in the up direction, corner valve leak to gallery, exhaust leak to atmosphere and pressure relief valve faulty.
For c112f-72 it says, corner valve stuck open.
P.S The car lowers if parked for a couple of days. It lowers evenly, not in a particular side.

Hi Stav
Not the same error code but very similar symptoms.
I've followed the soap/sponge troubleshooter to find out that I had a hairline crack on the compressor lid, fixed by using epoxy glue. Getting access to the compressor compartment gives you access to valves/pipes/etc.
Have a read it might help you to find exactly where the issue is.

Thank you, would that compressor lid be part of the dryer?

exactly
6x torx screws holding it.
Disconnect the two plastic pipe by pushing the connector and puling the pipe.

What about the exhaust-relief valve of the compressor, could this be the reason?

I’ve been chasing a C1130 fault in my D3 for a while. I had the Amber light as well, but all the suspension functions would work fine. The car would drop evenly over night. After doing all the soapy checks at all the junctions to find no leaks, I thought this was compressor related. So when I was changing the compressor, I found that the reservoir valve block was leaking air back into the compressor. This has lead me to believe that the rear valve block is also leaking, as the rear of the car would sink slowly, but then the front would also sink as the self levelling system kicked in. When I started the car, the rear would raise very quickly, which also points me to think as the valves are probably open the back raises quickly, then runs out of air, thereby making the front raise more slowly.
At present the car is awaiting for the two new valve blocks to arrive from Steve at Advanced Motor Factors, which should hopefully be today. Once I have switched these out, I will report back.
Cheers
John

Sorry parts did not arrive yesterday. Hopefully they should arrive today, and I'll get them fitted this evening.

It’s fixed.
I fitted the new rear valve block and reservoir valve block, and took the car for a long drive, and no suspension lights flashing up on the dashboard, and no faults logged. But this could be premature, as the amber suspension light used to come on randomly. More importantly, it never sunk overnight. I did the electrical tape trick from the wheel to the arch trim, and in the morning they were still taut.
Cheers
