Crossover pipe mod question

Hi all,
In middle of doing this b**** of a job lol.
So far got off side manifold 3bolts off and spent 2days getting the top nearside bolt off. So just the lower two I can get from underneath.. Fingers crossed but they are at least accessible unlike the top bolt.
I have a question and those that have done this will understand why I am asking...

*once pipe is off, has anyone modified the top bolt by removing the stud from underneath and drilling out the turbo side flange threads to put a nut and bolt on or even a double bolted stud.. For ease of refit or removal in future? Is this possible.

Thanks
Rich

It's been a while since i've done one - usually transmission out. From memory, I don't think there's enough clearance for a nut, certainly not enough access to hold it whilst getting the thread started.

Finally got it off. The drivers side bracket wasn't fixed which seem to have allowed vibration to cause above
I'm really wanting to upgrade with braided parts and welding or clamping them on than putting my donor one on that's oem.
