D3 having belts & pumps etc done, anything else I should do?

Hi all!

Our lovely Disco (Dave) is in LRD Southwest for a good servicing at the moment. Having both timing belts, tensioners etc, oil pump, water pump, diff oils, transfer box fluid and new oil/filter/coolant.

Whilst they're at it... anything else I should ask them to do to the engine? It's an early 2006 2.7 v6, 138k miles. Be ideal to get it all sussed now as I don't have the ability to strip it myself for more.

I've been reading about prolonging the lifespan and avoiding the dreaded crank issues and heard tell of a "balancer", but I'm not clear on what that is? I'm not the most mechanically minded but learning best I can.

I've attached the lovely piccies he's sent me this evening of before/after fitting the new pumps Very Happy

Many thanks in advance! Smile

Thanks Smile

He's doing the rear belt next, and gearbox is on the list next once I've got it back as I've got a slight shudder when accelerating uphill.

It's going to Exeter Gearbox Centre as they've apparently got a method of diagnosing the box and determining if the "Mechatronics" are all good and whether it just needs a flush or a TC.
