D5 winch
So soon I will be changing my 2010 D4 for something newer. Last of the D4 or first of the D5. Currently I have a winch on my D4 which I would transfer to my new car, D 4 = Straight swap. D5 not so. Only posts I can find are 5 years old ref winch so how are things looking now? Any recommendations for a hidden D5 winch mount and can a D5 hack it?

Try before you buy is my advice.
Whilst supremely capable, I hated taking the D5 off-road. Reason being that unlike the early Discovery models and FFRR’s, you can’t see the corners of the bonnet and therefore easily judge the distance from obstructions and obstacles. Which, for me at least, made it very stressful to drive off-road.
The model I had was equipped with surrounding cameras, which helped a bit, but if it was muddy….2006 D3 HSE (Original & still the best)-GONE
2010 D4 HSE (A bit bling)-GONE
2014 D4 HSE (Almost too bling)-GONE
2015 D4 HSE (A heated what?)-GONE
2016 D4 Landmark (Written Off)-GONE

If you do a search on the disco5 forum, you will find mentions of the discreet winch.
I have one. Very nicely done!! Works perfectly!!
