First post, but been trawling this site for just over a month now and got loads of good ideas and helpful hints from other members Very Happy

Today:
Fitted side steps
New battery
Cleaned MAP sensor

Also added the obligatory Disco3 sticker and fitted some new mud flaps a few weeks ago, original brackets were rusted through and plastic cracked, so I removed and cut new out of 4mm thick rubber matting. Fitted a Kinivo BTC480 as well for music etc.

Washed it Smile

I used a magic sponge and autoglym rubber and plastic spray to lubricate it and went over my plastics. My Door handles were particularly faded and had various marks from polish. they look a lot better now - just hope it lasts. used the same spray on a wet engine bay.

Pretty happy with the old girl..... who am i kidding, I love my disco

Cleaned it for the first time since I bought it. Looking smarter but it shows up a heck of a lot of scuffs and minor scratches. They’ll need to get done before the winter.

Only realised how big this car is when I tried to clean the roof... Rolling Eyes

a new (used) Glovebox mine has catches that don't work
new expansion tank, (low coolant warning on) bargain at £25 for a new genuine LR part
new rear exterior door handle, bargain at £43.50 for a new genuine LR part

arranged ChipsAway to visit tomorrow to give me a quote on a few little dings which is had when i bought the car.

my plan to get the car perfect, even for one 14yrs old,
next step is to book it into Buzzweld for an underside treatment.

Spent over £600 on bits to put the engine back together! Advanced Factors as recommended should have everything to me for Monday and then the fun begins. It's my first Land Rover and I didn't take it apart so it's going to be one hell of a jigsaw. Hopefully up and running and MOT'd before next weekend.
Then I can hand it over to the wife....

today removed show plates (which are BS marked)cleaned many layers of sticky pads, filled the 4 holes some moron drilled in the tailgate for the number plates, and fitted the new plates, front and rear.
fitted the new glove box, Censored Censored Censored what a Censored in the Censored to do!!!
played with the IID BT tool again, tested the FBH, which didn't work,
reading on here Bow down tried the compressed air trick and it fired up Very Happy
tested again with out the air injection and it fired up all by it's self Very Happy
IID BT tool still reporting FBH fault, but cleared so will try again after the car has had a few cold morning starts to see if it's clear.
made a better job of fitting the reverse camera screen
tested the cruise control switches, they seem ok so will try cruise control later to see if cleaning the contacts has done anything.

Updated the rear lights to the 2010 LED variety. Personally I prefer the red LEDs rather than the later black/smoked ones, particularly up against the darker paintwork. Delighted with these and at £125 off the forum they are a big saving over new.

They take years off the car.

Changed the Transfer box, front & rear diff oils. Finishing the home part of the 10yr service. (major service completed a week ago)

Can't recommend the mini multi purpose pump enough.

Booked in for a gearbox flush - the final piece of the puzzle.

Tidied up the horrible bodge job of a wire routing for the tow bar electrics. It's not good but it doesn;t hang down anymore.

Hoovered the boot, then sat in it, with a tape measure pondering a drawer install - for far too long. Whistle
