I spend about 5 or 6 days a month at my house in France and when there shop at the local supermarket (one of the Super U chain) most days. I've therefore noticed that the price of fuel often fluctuates up or down on a daily basis.

Regarding card charges, I have a French bank account so don't get done for charges if I use my French Bank debit card. However, I also have a Nationwide Anglia Visa card and also a Nationwide Anglia debit/cash card as neither attract charges when used anywhere within the EU. Anyone regularly travelling within the EU would save a fortune using UK Visa/Mastercard and debit cards that don't attract transaction charges within the EU. Thumbs Up

Are you saying that a NatWest Master Card will not have any charge when used in France?

Do you think I can use my Nat West debit card in France too with out any charges?

I don't know about NatWest but there are other credit card providers and banks apart from Nationwide Anglia that don't charge for transactions anywhere within the EU.

Best to 'Google' for a list of providers

Have you bought a Lear jet to add to your stable then Nick?!!!

With UK fuel prices rising by the day it will probably soon be the same to run a Lear jet on tax free Jet A1 fuel as it is to run the D3! Thumbs Up

My findings can be summed up as "NatWest Bad, Nationwide Good".

NatWest Cards are often not accepted, and attract charges when they DO work; Nationwide DEBIT Card was never a problem, no charges and good rates of exchange....

2006 D3 finally swapped for a 2016 D4 Graphite in Graphite grey. No mods
