Disco 3 - Convince the ECU it is in Park

Automatic ECU set fitted to manual Disco 3 due to lost keys.

Won't start because it thinks it's not in park.

Is there a simple way to convince the car it is in park?

It has not got an automatic shifter as the vehicle is a manual.

The first easy way is to bridge the large starter motor relay pins (marked SM) (with ign on) and see if it will start.

Do you have a gap iid ?

CLUEs IN here as to what the 2 relay coil wires do

Park

This worked.

Wire from the ignition switch to relay being fitted.

Our tow-horse is alive again!

Thank you

well make sure you still have a relay, as it will damage the switch otherwise
