How do you disconnect the butterfly valve - EGR blank?
I've fitted the EGR blanks and left the pipes in situ, but for the life of me I can't see how to dismantle the butterfly valve. Any suggestions gratefully received.2007 Disco3 2.7 tdv6 SE

when i did mine i clamped a small set of mole grips on the end of the shaft then inserted a screwdriver in the moleys and carefully levered out the shaft turn the shaft so you can hold the butterfly horizontal whilst pulling the shaft out then its refit by pushing back in place and refit the sensor please excuse any grammer/punctuation mistakes,i'm thick, thankyou

it will feel like you break it....and then it will start to come out..
but beware the housing is plastic... to wild and you will damage it... not directly break it straight away but to keep it tidy, just work with not too sharp tools..
soak the shaft (seal) in wd40 or like wise for an hour or longer can help.. if it is dry, it will be moredifficult..
when refit the shaft... use silicon greaseBest regards

So it's careful brute force and prise it out. I must admit that is what I was doing but was afraid of breakage. I'll do the WD40 soak this time and see how we go.
Many thanks for the replies chaps. 2007 Disco3 2.7 tdv6 SE
