Nothing exciting . Changed out the rhs rear parking sensor. Total time 15 minutes and £20.20 cost. Now drive out the offending sensor with an extended socket of a suitable dia. And take it from there. Yet another crappy Land Rover design.Once you have defeated the idiots any job is half done. Pity there are so many idiots to defeat.

Quick release boot opening 🤣🤣
Well it happened to me today - the boot failed to open
A quick search on u tube to find some info worked a treat.
Firstly I pressed both the lock/ unlock buttons on the dash.
Firstly you hear the doors lock and then several seconds later you hear the solenoid on the lower tailgate operate proving the the solenoid is not at fault.
Got my glad rags on a crawled into the boot to remove the lower tailgate cover.
Then found the mechanism That opens the boot.
I pushed the cable off it’s locater and then pulled the cable - hey presto a result .
Then fitted the quick release mechanism to get me going until I can replace the upper tailgate switch (I believe this is the issue - if not I’m sure you will let me know)

After pre-wiring the split charger and fitting the new aux battery last week, I managed to get the time today to run the 100amp live Cable from the battery back to the passenger side cubby hole following the wiring looms along the chassis, went better than expected apart from the split trunking getting snagged time and again on the way through. Used a set of thin drain rods to lead the way then pull the cable through with them. Hopefully will be able to connect everything up to the battery on end and the 12 way fuse the other over the weekend. Sockets and switches on order 2008 HSE Stornoway Grey

Tested and set the height and geometry on the car. When you delve into the Service section, you set it to 'showroom' which is what LR do to make it look 'rugged' in the showroom (apparently). Also in the settings you can lock the suspension to prevent anyone using anything other than normal mode. To be honest, you can do pretty much everything with it (I haven't worked out the FBH section yet). For £40 it's an absolute bargain

Quick advice - it took me ages to realise :-/
In the SERVICE mode is where you set up, change, fiddle about with etc.
In the DIAGNOSTIC mode just READS the code - you cannot change them.
What a great tool for the glovebox though. It's amazing

Thanks leroymusic. I'll take my time before I change anything

Full set of maintenance items in progress
Since yesterday evening the big TLC to my Discovery 3 is under way. Given that the car failed on MOT due to the rear brake lines being rusted, it become a full body off event. With that opportunity, the help and trust in a local independent... I keep myself busy with maintenance on my Ducati and preparing the Altox FBH controller for fitment this weekend.
Nice list:
Cam belts + oil pump + oil pan seals + coolant renewed
Brake lines renewed + brake bleeding
Rear HVAC connections renewed (oil rings leaking)
New glow plugs
EPB mounting released / regressed
New HD arms on all 4 corners
Full service
Passion for Discovery & willingness to continue to drive for at least another 5 years made me do this. Depending on emission rules, perhaps next body off is marriage with petrol V8 or electrification.
D5 HSE TDV6 (gone but not forgotten)
D3 HSE 60 Years Edition
D2 TD5 Highlander (gone but not forgotten)
