Got into my disco yesterday to find that the drivers seat memory had forgotten everything. Seat postion, mirror positions and the mirrors dipped full down when put into reverse. Nothing else seemed to be missing, even the clock and radio buttons had remembered their pre-sets (they forgot everything last month) Spent 10 minutes in heavy traffic re-programming it all again and it's back to normal this morning.
Anyone else had this - or should I be worried ?
Is it a sign of a bigger problem or just something disco's do every now and again? (programmed character) 2005 D3 HSE

Mine does a little "dance"  occasionally...
I THINK it goes like this....
If I start the engine without waiting for the BONG to signify the start-up routine THEN reverse out of my drive, on selecting DRIVE, the mirrors forget to move back to normal.
Pressing M1 on the seat has no effect, but pressing AND HOLDING M1 causes the seat to move slightly to another position AND BACK again, and the mirrors to normalise.
I have seen nothing about a "long" press of the button in the manual but it works differently from a short press.
I think it is part of the RFG (Random Function Generator) and probably varies according to the RDSG (Random Delivery Spec. Generator) special to the D3 
Any help? 2006 D3 finally swapped for a 2016 D4 Graphite in Graphite grey. No mods

Isn't the RFG directly proportional to the amount of time spent RTFM "To finish first, one first has to finish ...."

But there are a few (R)TFM faults; I think occasionally TFM becomes disconnected (from reality, that is ) 2006 D3 finally swapped for a 2016 D4 Graphite in Graphite grey. No mods

There was a spate of seat ECU failures (seat and mirrors on a distinct ECU, remote from other car systems). Sounds like yours has succumbed.  I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.
