United Kingdom 2006 Discovery 3 TDV6 Base 7 Seat Manual Rimini RedDiscovery 3
First months ownership...thoughts

After 3 D2 s, the first thing I noticed was how smooth the vehicle is to drive, its also seems longer than the D2 and a swine to put in the garage, the driving position is fine although the radio controls and clock could have been better designed,it is also bloody awkward to get into reverse gear from time to time and requires some considerable effort, the heater thingy under the n/s front makes nasty fume like smells , not to good on a delicate tum first thing in the morn......But, hey she is a beautiful Rimini Red and I love just looking at it shimmering? on our drive (well she shimmered just after I bought it) The spare wheel will have to be replaced, I dont fancy towing the Caravan with the spacesaver,(why is it 19 inch???)
Had one strange message "Slow down or suspension will lower",checked it out but seems O.K now, also had a few "bongs" from time to time god knows what this is, no further messages,by the way the Dealer was Landrover @ Melton Mowbray (very good) regards to all M.H

It's only slightly longer overall than a D2 but the wheelbase is greater

Reverse gear problem is a known (though rare) issue, search the site and you should find some details to go armed to your dealer with to get it fixed

FBH smell in cabin is a documented issue and is easily fixed with a software update, have you had the Vehicle Enhancement Program done? Fix is included in the VEP

Slow down suspension message suggests you were in off-road height and approaching 30mph

as a nebiew, the hardest 'bong' to find is when the outside temperature drops below 5 degrees...you then get a 'bong'. took me a bit before realising it.

Well Disco D, maybe that's one of the things they've taken away as the years have gone on. Manufacturers have been known to do this!!

Are you sure though, thats it's it's not just the excess pies in your ear'ole? Wink

No, the 07MY seems particularly 'bong-less' - bit of a culture shock after an 06MY.... so much so I had to induce a fault to check the bonger was working Embarassed
