First trip in the snow

Well I used the special programs in anger for the first time today! Used them a couple of times before, but didn't really need to.

We had over a foot of snow last night in Sussex, and hubby couldn't wait to get out in the Disco! I'd gone to work in it yesterday in the slush, and the only slip I had was turning into the carpark at work off an ungritted road.

The car was so impressive today. It didn't bat an eyelid reversing out of the drive towards the main road, whereas our BMW 120 wouldn't have made it 2 yards! We made our way to the local Tescos 4 miles away without any issues, and decided to visit my inlaws for a coffee. Their driveway is very steep tarmac, and after crawling halfway up it we starting sliding backwards. A heat-stopping moment! Especially as the car started angling towards a wall. I jumped out and cleared any ice from under the wheels, and after a few minutes very careful creeping backwards and forwards, we got back down the slope.

So the only thing that let us down was the tyres. I had an argument with my boss yesterday - she laughed at me for being worried about driving to work. "But you've got a 4x4" she says. Yes, I reply, which on ice becomes a 2.5 tonne sled! I rest my case.

Hope everyone had fun out there today! The only downer for us was a crack developing in the windscreen. Mad

Had plenty of fun in mine today, about 2 foot here but a lot more in places due to drifting. Used it to pull a 36 ton articulated tanker out of a jack knife and up a small slope, wow i was impressed no issues what so ever not even any wheel spin Mr. Green Thumbs Up

Hit from behind by an old Polo which didn't manage to stop in time! No harm done to anyone, but two written off cars! We didn't care - company car Laughing
