Fitting accessories

I bought accessories for my D3 in from England (1,000 euro cheaper) but my dealer does not want to fit them as I did't buy from them Rolling Eyes I was goin to fit the parts myself but just want some reassurance from others that have done it? I need to fit side steps, mud flaps and light guards. Does anyone know a good independant land rover mechanic in the midlands or south of Ireland? Thanks

CY - Iain lives in England - doh!

All of the items are straightforwards to fit - you might cast around the Irish D3 contingent to see if one of them can come up to your place for a fitting session - all of them can be done in an afternoon Thumbs Up

And mentions the midlands as a location too Whistle

I assumed it was either over there or over here in Brumigham Land.

Thanks lads, we do have midlands in Ireland aswell. Consists mainly of peat, tricky stuff to drive through Very Happy I'll have a crack of fitting the parts myself. Will revert to the Irish members when I run into problems.

Thats how I read it - if you're looking for the easiest first, do the front lamp guards - oik the grill and headlamps out (easy peasy, shows you in the manual) and follow the instructions - no drilling, just screws Thumbs Up Steve N | 21MY Defender | 08MY Discovery 3 (history) | 06MY Discovery 3 (ancient history)

Cool, I've been doin alot of thinking about chipping the engine but am terrifified over warranty etc. I pull a large compressor all over Ireland and need the land rover totally reliable. If your goin to be over here I'd be very interested in havin it done but have a few questions I need answering first. Wow have I gone off topic NEWBIE Embarassed

Will my LR dealer find it on there diagnostic?
Can they accidentally overwrite the tune with any updates they might put on?

I know you have probably answered these questions a million times before 10forcash but would really appreciate if you could answer them again Thumbs Up Thanks

If you're after a remap in Ireland, Chris Tyler is yer man! - we have an agreement, he doesn't sell remaps in my territory and I don't sell them in his!
Should the dealer overwrite, then Chris will reapply your tune no problem
As far as the dealers are concerned.... Well most tunes are transparent to them in terms of diagnostic kit, but as soon as they road test it.... Whistle that said, i've never heard of any reaction other than a wry smile from the bloke that does the test drive Wink
