Fitting new seats - Some handy tips!
Ok, so I purchased some second hand leather front seats for my commercial disco3, after taking out the old ones and bolting in the new ones there were some issues.
I am writing this so others may avoid the mistakes I made!
After bolting in the new seats and reconnecting the block of cables underneath, I sat in to go for a drive but....
1. Seat belts would not clip into the seat belt buckles. 2. The air bad light was now on in the dash.

To solve the first issue, I had to unscrew the seat belt buckles from my old seats and trace two wires back to the under side of the seat to the black box of wires.
This pic show the bolt you need to undo to separate the parts of it.

The two wires from the seat belt buckle have one connection each. One wire has a blue square connector, the second wire has an orange connector (See pic).

These coloured connectors can be removed without cutting of any wires by unclipping them at the back of the square box connected to the underside of the seat. In the above pic the connectors are attached to the square black box under the seat.
Remove the belt buckle and the two wires on the your new leather seats, (same procedure as above) and replace them with your old belt buckles. Ensure your put the coloured connectors back into the balck box under the seat in the correct location, take pictures for obvious reasons.
Second problem - The air bad light was now on in the dash
This is my solution that worked for me... I am sure there are other ways.
Unscrew the two parts of the black box located under each seat by undoing the small bolt pictured below.
Disconnect the positive terminal on the battery and leave it be for about 30 mins.
Reconnect the two parts of the black box, ensuring the bolt is well tightened.. This bolt in the pic.

Reconnect the positive terminal of the battery.
Hopefully your problem is solved
New seats in and all problems solved.

Good info.... Intresting photo with the common Ford part...
Makes you wonder if you had to replace the part how much it would be... Quote from Land Rover and a quote from Ford.. CuriousIf it ain't broke... Take it apart anyway, how else you gonna find out how it works

From speaking with peeps at a recent do, I would hazard a guess at LR = 2 x Ford. Well LR is a premium "quality" brand so you can afford to pay premium prices, so the logic would go.
