gap iid tool query

before I sell my Gap iid tool......

could I activate say the heated steering wheel even though I haven't fitted it and then install it at a later point? same with the flappy paddles gearbox update??

I don’t know about the flappy paddles but there is no connection between the heated steering wheel settings in the CCF and the heated wheel. Those settings are a complete red herring, all you need is a heated wheel, clock spring with heater plug, and the correct wheel ECU and switch pack. All done in hardware.

Did this on my MY 2013 a couple of years back, the only headache is finding the correct ECU and switch. They changed the electronics in (I think) 2014 and the later components won’t work in an early D4. Trust me I tried!

Don’t know why the CCF settings are there, maybe they do something in the later cars? Or maybe they’re a hangover from some Ford model.
