GVIF randomly stopped working - no power?

Hi all,

I've just jumped in the car and put it into reverse (which usually flicks the nav screen to the reverse camera via the GVIF) and nothing has happened. I tried the manual selector for the front camera too but nothing... Video here:

Anybody know why it would suddenly stop working? Has been fine for 2-3 years.

Can't see any loose connections or anything obvious on the unit itself. However neither of the LED lights are on... Does this mean it isn't getting power? I am in NO way electrical so no idea where to start!!

It was a little reluctant to start this evening, could a low battery affect it?

Check the black plug going in/out of the satnav it had an habit of slipping out occasionally on mine.
A low charged battery can effect all none essential electric items after first start ip, a restart after a few minutes running will usually restart them.
 It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.

I had the same problem in that the reverse camera didn't come on. I've also been experiencing a dull satnav screen. Finally no satnav or reverse screen at all.
Got a used satnav DVD unit off the internet and swopped it over and all is now well.
Easy swop, just raise the passenger seat and set fully forward. You can then remove the unit quite easily.
Replacement is the reverse procedure. Also able to change the CD via the back as well.
Your GVIF unit should have a red indicator light to show that it has power.
Also, make sure that the plugs to the GVIF are fully plugged in. That's the LR IN and the LR OUT plugs from the GVIF unit which go in place of the big ish BLUE plug on the satnav unit.

If thats the position its normally in is it not in front of heater outlet it would be on mine . It could be overheating maybe .
Mines at the side of the nav (bit of asqueeze but just fits if you're careful withe the cables).👍

No problem with regard to heater outlet. My GVIF sits between the satnav and the propshaft tunnel under the passenger seat. My fault was with the satnav and not the GVIF.
