Hi,

I am pretty sure the oil you used is wrong....

These zf boxes are very sensitive about the fluid used...

So oem correct grade ZF oil or a equivalent like ravenol or any other with the right specs

I use this:

Did you have this problem before changing the oil? - ATF is the wrong oil, you need a full flush with the correct oil asap.
 It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.

TBH.... if you have a problem, only use the original ZF oil...

although alternatives can be ok, like mine, i recommend in case of issues, only the original ZF stuff, then you know for sure... if it is/was the oil...

the proper oil code is in your manual... i presume.. i have to look it up, someone will mention it shortly here, i am sure.. Wink

i can be the Torque Converter (TC) also, but since that one is rather expensive... ruling it out can be a good thing...

i paid around € 400 for a refurbished one, who does its job perefectly for 10.000 km's in one year now...
 Best regards

Hi

Can u get hold of Mannol AG 55 as that’s another atf oil that u can use

Zf lifeguard 8 is for the later D4 8 x speed boxes

Many of us buy the AG55 in 10 x litre quantiles from Germany for around £50.00

Hope that helps

Given motul think this is the right oil, I'd recheck levels to begin with.
