Is this true

As the title says, is this true - or just a joke...

opening your car via mobile phone

Have you locked your keys in the car?
Does your car have remote keyless entry? This may come in handy someday.

Good reason to own a cell phone: If you lock your keys in the car and the spare keys are at home, call someone at home on their mobile phone from your cell phone. Hold your cell phone about a foot from your car door and have the person at your home press the unlock button, holding it near the mobile phone on their end. Your car will unlock. Saves someone from having to drive your keys to you. Distance is no object. You could be hundreds of miles away, and if you can reach someone who has the other 'remote' for car, you can unlock the doors (or the trunk).

So come one someone - give it a go Confused

I don't believe it either but had heard that BMW had recalled some new 5-series cars as it was a 530 that someone said they had done it on.

On a similar but different note. On a previous disco I owned I think it was a 50th Anniversary. If someone called my mobile whilst the car was stationary but had the keys in it. The bloody thing would lock and unlock.
In the Beginning there was nothing, which exploded.

I thought the key fob signals use radio waves.

On that basis if someone from say Oz rings the UK on a mobile or landline , places the receiver on the table top. Anyone close to the receiver in the UK will be able to tune into Oz radio ?

I don' think either would work !
