Perhaps this needs to be made a sticky or entered into the WiKi if not already done.

The photos helps a lot.

Sounds like a good idea to me.

I don't think they would want it in there TBH...you can just imagine the AA turning up and half the interior being sat on the side of the road Laughing

Rolling with laughter

On a more serious note, these are only covered by LRA for 3 years, what happens to a new owner who joins Green Flag or something who don't know how to move them, serious damage could be done?

Being disabled can be a safety issue. Not knowing how to do this whilst the police / highways agency try and tow you from a dangerous position would not be fun.

Not all breakdowns are in benign situations.

But to be fair you can't account for all scenarios ...that's why the handbook says seek advice. The truth is that the number of occasions where a D4 is going to be actually physically broken down and then in addition being unable to move due to being stuck in P is going to be exceptionally rare IMO. How many cases have been reported so far ? Smile

From my own experience pretty rare. I have had to release my D3 from park once as the man sent out by LRA (not an LRA man) didn't know how to do it and he was going to try to drag my car on to his flat bed. I've also talked my boss through it once and also helped remove a stricken D3 from a mate's garage.

Not a great deal in over 7 years but my point is that it was in the handbook for the stick so why remove it for the rotary?

A few weeks ago when my battery was dead, I was parked at the side of the loch in the miiddle of nowhere (well somewhere close to Hess), if I was parked 1 meter further forwards my jump leads would not have reached between cars and in that case I would need to move it by a small amout. So, yes could be frequent.

To jog my memory, I've photocopied Buellbeast's post with pictures and put in the vehicle handbook. It might come in handy one day. Thumbs Up
