Have you looked under your side steps recently?
Its a wonder my foot didn't go through these.
Took me about an hour and a half to change them. Two of the studs had to be ground off. The others just snapped. The brackets themselves were a different story. Just a bit of surface rust, so I reused them.
Looks a lot better now too.

Mine look just like that, they just have not got to the top of my Discovery jobs to do list yet. Be careful reusing the brackets, I did that on my previous P38 and about 2 years later SWMBO stood on the side step and it snapped, it had obviously taken more of the surface than I thought.
Or she had put more weight on You can guess which one she blamed it on

That is pretty much what mine have looked like for years!
They do get bashed a lot when (properly) off road but the strength of the brackets is amazing. So many times now that I have had to recruit 3 or 4 hefty folk to jump on the step in unison to bend it back down so I may open the door.
As I no longer associate with anyone who needs the step, I would replace them with rock and tree slidies but I'll wait until they fall off as I'm lazy.A vaccine does not stop you catching a virus, or passing it on, or getting ill from it, really ill. It does reduce the likelyhood of you dying when really, really ill. Stay Alive - KEEP AWAY FROM PEOPLE.
