Make sure you check them regularly. My first one lasted about 18m of keys going in and out. Showing my brother in law how they worked and my car opened whilst in the pouch ! Also make sure you use the rear pocket and not the front one (why on earth they include a non protected pocket is beyond me).
CheersGary

That's why I said an "old tobacco tin" as they were made of lovely rust-prone ferrous metal.Black 05 TDV6 HSE Auto

Apparently, Altoids mint tins are made of the right stuff, but I fancy some ginger for pepping me up on the journeys to/from Scotland anyway.Black 05 TDV6 HSE Auto

Pouch
I bought this, £11 and it is big so you can put your fob and key ring into it.

Not sure if this works on the Disco, however, I found it just easier to turn the feature off. You have to be very disciplined to keep it in the pouch. My neighbour had there car stolen while she went to the Pay and Display it wasn't a Land Rover though so may have been more prone.

I quite like the RS PRO Silver Die Cast Aluminium Enclosure, but it wouldn't look good on the hall table, so I might go for the Tan KeyProtectPro Premium Faraday Key Protection Box.
There also seem to be lots at Amazon.

It works on some D4s, it didn’t work on my MY11 HSE. It worked on older models, younger models and even cars of the same MY, just not mine.

After all this talk about faraday pouches, I checked mine again yesterday. It failed to block the signal!!
I checked it 2 weeks ago and it was fine. The keys have only been in and out of it twice since then. I have the Defender brand, and this is my second set in 4 years. This one was purchased in April 2019 and been in regular use since the end of 2019 ( it was my spare).
I think the coating on the fabric must wear off with use. The spare I have had for a while now is still fine, so keys in and out definitely affects it. I have a bunch of house keys with it too, which probably doesn’t help.
I’ve ordered a new pair , different make this time. My keys only go in and out of that pouch on average 2-3 times a week, and obviously even less over the past year, so I guess it is just a case of replacing regularly.
CheersGary

I should add, that after looking at various buyer reviews, all these pouches seem to stop working in a few months with regular use (and not long after that with infrequent use).
Unfortunately the motoring magazine reviews don't test them over a prolonged period, they just do a simple test to see how well they block the signals. They should give them to their test drivers when they get handed a car to drive for a few months to test alongside the car.

I've had mine for over 18 months, still both work, purchased from the bay of fleas for less than a tenner the pair.
