Mud flaps
I think I should fit mud flaps because the spray behind my car feels a little inconsiderate. I've had a quick look on ebay, and there are loads of frankly very cheap options. Are any of them any good? What's the best option from your own experience? Also, my feeling is I would rather have the fixed type.
Thanks!
Andy

Cheap ones, even britpart one’s fit bad, very bad.... if you want those anyway, go for genuine..
BUT my advice...
Go for series one’s. If you want them to work...
I bought genuine ones for the rear, because of the Land Rover logo, front, i bought brandless from a reputable part supplier in the Uk , not sure if it was AF or Island4x4
There are fitting descriptions here on the forum.... makes no sence to do that again, just go for a search

I have LR originals as the previous owner had installed them. just stay away. The metal parts are and rust easily. One of the screws is so (Phillips screw, all soft in the middle) that it’s dremel time if I ever want to remove flap for any kind of servicing underneath.
People seem to like tuff-rok but I have no personal experience with them. The logo is quite big but at least previously it was possible to get them completely without a logo. The price is pretty high for a piece of rubber/pvc/plastic/whatever they are.

They are the same rubber / plastic as series LR mudflaps
I have them and they are good - you can still get them logo free - they are quite pricey - £80 I think

Got Tuff Rok on three out of 4 corners on mine
Only 3 out of 4 as I take the liners out and jet wash out, clean up the metal work and re paint while I do it.
It does mean I can see how effective the standard ones aren't !
It also means I can see just how much of a trap the arch liners are ! mine is pretty low mileage and not really seen much in the way of mud and i still got a pile about 10 cm across and 10cm high out of the arch from behind the liner on the front off side.05 D3 V8 HSE, LR Passion tree bars, wildbear compressor guard, LRP switch panel, ARB rear locker + compressor, Trigger 6 shooter electrical system

I fitted Discovery 1 fronts (Non-genuine so plain) to the front and Defender 90 rears (Genuine so they have the Land Rover badging) to the rear. The fronts just need some new fixing holes drilled. The rears require cutting to miss the exhaust pipes, plus I added extra fixing screws.

your choice ofcourse, BUT may i ask why?
these Tuff Rok, are maybe fancy ones, regarding image and site, but... no different than aftermarket Britpart
and even in combination with Original LR "soft rubber flaps" with LR loge at the rear are cheaper!
and you have the look like Kelvo his Disco.. Best regards
Harold

I just bought some big mudflaps for trucks, cut them to shape and size that suited, also did the same for Misses car.

For the rear I bought two LR055332 this is a ‘right hand side’ mud flap. You do not want the left hand side one as it has a cutout to clear the Defender exhaust.
The fronts are part number RTC6820 (This is for a pair).MY14 TDV6

Great. Thank you. Found the fronts on LRDirect for under $10 the pair and two of the rears for $80. One more follow up, did you have to trim either of them very much or just a little and how about the fittings? I really like the fit of the guards on your vehicle. Mine is identical and I'd like to get the same fit. If you have any top tips I'd be grateful. PAGODA

I'm being a bit thick...
Can someone tell me which ones I need to order for the front and rear? Do I need 4 of one type or two and two?
I've cracked my plastic original mudflaps and like the look of the soft rubber.
I'm guessing the rears are a bit longer than the fronts? Can you get away with using Discovery 1 fronts all round?
I'm not fussed about logos.
Thanks

Front requires 1 x RTC6820
Rear requires 2 x LR055332
Buy aftermarket/pattern versions of the part numbers if you don’t want the Land Rover logo, or the Discovery mountains.
Discovery 1 fronts would be too small (Width and length) for the rear of a D4.MY14 TDV6

Fronts do not require any cutting. I picked up the original fixing points and added another inboard screw/bolt as they are more flexible the the actual D4 flaps.
The rears need ‘proper’ cutting. I used a CAD template (Cardboard Added Design) and cut that until I was happy with the fitting, then used that to cut the actual flap. The left and right is just flipped so only one template required. Again I used the original fixing points, plus used a piece of flat bar (The piece that was supplied with the D1 fronts) to add a stiffener and two additional inboard fixings.
I’ll try and get some photos when the wife gets home from work tonight.MY14 TDV6
