No tick, no tock, no beep, no bong...

Good evening all.

I have two faults that I suspect are connected, though also possibly not...

Firstly I have a flashing light on the parking sensor switch, and no beeping front or rear.

Secondly I have no ticking and no tocking when using the indicators.

I had assumed that perhaps the speaker in the instrument cluster is broken, so I've bought a second hand cluster and was planning to desolder and replace the speaker. I'm not scared of the work, should be straightforward, but before I start ripping apart the dash has anyone on here ever had similar issues?

I am wondering whether they are related. I.e. perhaps the ECU can sense no current through the speaker and therefore stops the sensors working as a safety precaution? Or possibly, is the beeping something that might be turned off in the CCF?

Any ideas welcome, and thanks in advance!

Thanks, that's interesting. So I have a fault in both the front and rear setup as I have no beeping from either.

And then a third fault with the indicators not ticking either.

Does anyone know whether these things are (or can be) disabled in the CCF etc? I'd rather not pull it all apart only to find that it is a software fix.

The indicators and the front parking sensors both use the dash speaker. Definitely not software, the speaker in the front is probably faulty or you have a wiring fault.

The status LED will flash at a frequency of 2Hz if the system is active and fault is detected in the sensors, sounders, related wiring or the module.

Did it work before. Just a thought, if you press the centre button that has the breakdown symbol on it, do you get any sound whilst lights are flashing. Most of what you are saying relates to the fuse panel behind the glove box. Have you done anything with this? The other thought is a can buss connector loose.

A few answers...

The PDC has not ever worked in my ownership.

The battery is brand new

The fuseboard has been out to fix the leaking sunroof hoses, but I'm not worried about that as the problem pre-existed that fix.

Cheers for the link to the other article, I reckon I'll have a go at the speaker in the dash first as the indicators should be using that. We'll see whether that resolves it before I do anything more.

Cheers again
