Maybe.

Or you could just drop the window down 4 inches
Remove speaker
Remove black plate in door
Unclip glass
Prop glass up with wood or gaffa tape at top
Then you can get your head in door and see where the fault maybe. Lock or latch or cable

I think you have to do the above even with a hole.

Ah that’s where the instructions were wrong it didn’t mention drop the window first haha

Brain was melting!

Also I’ll leave a window down slightly for the time being just in case. As the wind trim covers it.

Whilst I’ve got you, this morning I have it a good old booting in 2nd gear and a puff of black smoke came out quite a lot tbh. Wondering is this the engine clearing with pressure or it telling me it’s poorly?

Tia

Maybe a leaking large air hose.
Or maybe the oil overfill

Just a point of interest here.
Please don't use WD40 (or similar) in key barrels, it leave a residue that then attracts dirt particles, this then acts as abrasive when the key moves in and out - wearing the levers etc more quickly. Find a decent locksmith and buy some 'graphite' spray off them and use that in all your locking barrels.

Trying to lift glass up now

Does it detach from the one white clip or is there another?

Can’t seem to pry it up!

United Kingdom 2005 Discovery 3 TDV6 SE Manual Aintree GreenDiscovery 3

Hi all

Updating!

I managed to get my arm in with a nylon sleeve to slip in. As last time my arm was just slightly too big.
Lucky managed to get arm out again haha

Here’s a video of what I can see near the barrel:

The black middle plate that I undid with the 6 bolts. It isn’t connected with any kind of cable.

Is there anything I should be seeing here? Please

Put the key b the door.

Get the camera in and more the key a little.
See if you can see movement behind the key and then move camera to behind latch and see if you can see movement

Nothing seems to be moving in sight with the key being turned in either direction. See video:
