Trouble is that usually it is only the really junior Juniors that move on 1st August. This year, amongst the other major C k-ups of the Department of Health's new recruitment system for junior doctors is the fact that ALL junior doctor grades, including the specialist trainees, will be spending between 5pm on the 31st July and 8am on 1st August on the country's motorways as they move to the improbable parts of the country they have been allocated, if they were lucky enough to get a job! And some jobs will have no doctor appointed.
So, not only will the first line of NHS service in hospitals be brand new, their immediate supervisors and their immediate supervisors will either be
a. not there yet
b. there but too tired to make a decision
c. there, able to make a decision but not know the system in this new hospital
d. asleep/stuck on the M25/M6/M5.M1 etc.
NOT a good day to be sick normally, a VERY BAD day to be sick this year. Oh well, I'm off for a Month - by the time I come back they will have got the hang of it.......maybe.

There ya go! brown wire with blue terminal is the +ve pick-up, it's fused@ 40A so i'd suggest an in-line fuse to suit whatever you're connecting to it
Connected up last night, found that the 12v feed was actually the terminal above the one shown on the picture above....works a treat and no obvious problems
wonder if this is now different in MY07 (mine)

Strange..
Still, i've seen a few CJB's without the terminals fitted to the 'spare' socket, there doesn't seem to be any correlation so who knows? FWIW, mine's an 07MY and the power connection is as shown above....
The CJB is a strange mixture of hard connections FET power distribution and data so it's possible there could be variances

They may well have both been powered ..i cant remember .
Oh there is a fuse for that aswell ...athough its not listed in the manual !!!G4 Gone ...but not forgotten

Bumping this back up again. Going back to DD's original question, is there anywhere at the back end that could give a 25A feed to a radio installed in the back? Is it simpler to take the feed from the front and route to the back?

I want to put mine to the side of the third row seats so a feed there would be ideal. I'm not sure if there is a spare connector there though. My towing electrics were pre-installed so I didn't get a chance to play with them on installation.
Take a look at the fuses in the back for the tow electrics, can't remember what they're rated at but I'd be surprised if at least one of them didn't give you a clue for which would be a suitable feed to tap in to The End

Hi Alex,
I have pulled a feed from the white tow socket electrics in the back locker to power the rack lights via a relay. It's a 30a 3mm cable I believe to run the aux kit in a caravan. I'll have a look at which cable it was and try to get a pic this afternoon.

I just looked at this and in my my07 the +ve pick-up as shown and the one under it in the pic above are both on the same fuse and it's not a 40amp but a 10 amp and that is what the fuse layout showed too so I shorted it to see what fuse was goon and it was a 10 amp theres no 40 amp that I can find this may be something that is not on the my07 but was on the my05/06.

In the LHS rear locker you will see a small fuse block. Above that are 2 grey connectors. These are the conectors for the tow bar. Even if you do not have the tow bar electrics fitted the 'vehicle' side of the connector should still be there.
On the one with the least wires you will see a fat purple wire. This is the aux feed for the white socket. This is a permanent supply and hopefully will supply what you want. I seem to remember TFC said it was fused at 40 amps.
You need to splice into this cable. Either use a scotch lock, or as I prefer, strip back about 12mm of insulation, wrap your cable around and apply a generous amount of solder. Finish with a healthy coating of self amalgamating tape. Not sure if TFC will approve of this method, but I have a dislike of scotchlocks, especially after a year or two of them being damp.... The -ve is picked up from a 6mm stud just behind the small fuse block, already has a few wires on it. You can see my red wires from the splice and the additional relays in the pictures. Simple as that hopefully!
You say you need 25amps for the radio which may imply 100w HF. If this is the case it would be worth fitting a ferrite ring in the cable to stop any HF getting into the vehicle electrics. If erratic things start to happen when Tx-ing then the only solution will be to run dedicated cables back to the battery, but worth a try this way first.
We have fitted several HF's into D3's and FFRR's with no problems but have not (so far) drawn power from this point.
