| reccomended fuel filter and engine oil |

hi peeps.
should i buy a lr fuel filter or o.e.?
found a genuine on ebay for around 50 but not sure.
also i use castrol magnetic c3 5w 40 what is equivalent but maybe better.
lots to read on here about the oil but conflicting.
what do you use ?

I have a mahle fuel filter. Think I bought it as part of this kit from Advanced Factors

I used to use Castrol Magnatec 5W30 C3 as well, but on my last oil change (254,000 miles) I changed to Castrol Magnatec 5W40 A3/B4. Got to say, the engine sounds a lot smoother. I would say it actually drives better too. Happy with the choice so far.

hi chris, yes i use the 5w 40.
first oil change i did was when i bought it, put the 5w 30 in, then read about 5w 40 so changed it to that after 2k, used it to clean really.
just wondered what oil is better than the castrol or there better range had a d1 ,d2 a land mark d4 for 3 days now have awsome d4 in orkney grey hse sdv6 my12

Unless you do oil analysis, and most of us do not, it is pretty much the same what you put in there as long as it meets the spec. I mean unless you care about the brand’s implied quality communicated to you via their marketing messaging... 
For example, I buy Mannol myself as the price per liter is significantly less than with many other brands.

placed my first order with duckworths. genuine lr fuel filter , a bit late now but i take it we dont get discount from them ?  had a d1 ,d2 a land mark d4 for 3 days now have awsome d4 in orkney grey hse sdv6 my12
