removable towbar storage

Hi, anyone had any problems fitting the towbar storage bracket?

Seems simple from the instructions!
When attempting to install mine found that the fuse block and wiring from the twin-electric kit was in the way of the bracket and that there was a section of carpet with thick padding where the bracket should screw into in the rear of the disco.
No mention of this in the instructions.

Anyone had any similar problems?

I just keep mine wrapped in an old shower curtain and store in the rear nearside compartment.
Keeps it protected and from moving around.
The curtain also comes in handy for carrying dirty/wet things in the boot.

sorry, not much use to you discocat, but I hope you get sorted with the bracket. I was a normal heterosexual chap, but in these new woke awakenings I now identify as a Wardrobe.

Yes, found that......

dealer did it for me instead free Thumbs Up

took them longer than they expected Whistle end of an era ....... maybe a Defender when it appears.......

I had the same issue, the towbar electrics do move out of the way, but I ended up cutting the foam to make it all fit flush. Was a bit of a pain in the Censored to fit to be honest.

I had a similar problem. The carpet does need to be cut - from memory it is partly cut on the underside already.

Once I'd taken all the side panel I realised that it would have been possible to fit the carrier just by removing the loadspace rings and the plastic trim strip, cut the carpet, and then fit it through the hole in the side panel and work it into position.

Glad it wasn't just me mis-reading the instructions.

I'll try cutting the carpet away.

Do you have the part number for this holder? Also the cost?

I've got a removable towball, but not keen to have it floating about the back of the car as it is a heavy lump to hit you in the back of the head, or hit a panel from inside.
