Retro ELECTRIC seat fitting, D4

Lets just say someone gave me a couple of electric front seats for my currently non electric seated 2011 D4.

Easy to do, or a nightmare and not worth bothering with?

Sometimes wiring etc is already there hence my question!

Cheers

Everything can be done, but if the harness are not already in the car, it's a long and long-lasting job ....

Here the electric diagram related to the heated elements:
http://www.disco3.co.uk/gallery/albums/use..._seats.pdf

And you need to "upgrade" the switches on the central console, enable on the CCF with a proper diagnostic tool.....

Or try to connect the heated pads as the aftermarket kit with DIY harness and separate switches.

For each seat you need to build this circuit:

Thanks for the info.

I am actually not bothered about heated seats, but since electric seats are free I am tempted, but only if the harnesses/connectors are already there and "unused".

I found the unused harness/connector for a dimming rear view mirror the day, so thats an easy upgrade 8)

Philip.. I've just fitted electric seats in a 2010 D4 GS and the wiring was there for me, have a good look and maybe draw a plan of the wiring multi plug configuration, in case you need to swap anything over. The memory feature doesn't work on a GS... incorrect loom.
If they are memory, they will move in very short burst, the seat heating can be configured with the correct heater control panel and the option activated in vehicle's ECU.

Phil.

Thanks all.

So beabie, I can literally just get the seats, plug them in and bingo?

For clarity on how high my idiot status is, last time I did anything electrical, I cut through the electric cooker main ring and blew my self up. I thought I had unplugged it, but I had unplugged the microwave not the full big cooker Rolling with laughter

No you need a HVAC panel (above) that has heated seats too (ebay) one went last week for £25

Then a friendly CCF edit, like the Xenons Thumbs Up

Nothing to cut, fortunately it all plugs in and is only 12v and F' all amps Rolling with laughter
