Have you checked the fuse inside the rear quarter on the passengers side? (sorry to state the obvious, but worth a try!).
Software update just stops terrain response lifting car while you have caravan on the back - lots topics on this if you do search. Basic functions are all electrical and work fine with just the loom... Disco3 is now gone but not forgotten. Waiting for Disco6 with full aluminium construction weight reduction and hybrid engine...
