Yes - they also did the bluetooth kit firmware download to enable the phonebook. But this was billed separately (apparently 30 minutes billed, they said, and that's £47.50 +VAT)
That would make the labour rate £95 per hour, or £111.63 including VAT.
To be fair though - it was a good job, and I got a new (08 plate) Freelander HSE for the day on their insurance ... Rob aka gringle

I've been ringing local dealers for a price on a 45k service plus a brake fluid change (3 years old - the paranoid voices ( ) I hear say change it...).
The variation in prices is strange to say the least.... I thought this was all 'fixed menu' pricing now?
Hatfields Liverpool £365
Shukers Ludlow £365
Lakeland Coniston £376
Shukers Shrewsbury £409
James Edwards St Helens £569
Given the cost of diesel on top it looks like I'll be trying Hatfields (unless someone knows something I don't.. do you? do you?) I see no ships........

Gringle, you can probably answer a question I was just trying to post in navigation, but forum is not liking it and keeps giving an error!
Do you have an MY07, and after upgrade can you now sync phonebook via bluetooth?
EDIT: Oh and I can believe the £95+VAT! Me thinks me have to shop around when we are due for service...

My D3 is due for an MOT this year, what seems to be the average for MOTs carried out by the dealers ?

I had an MOT at the beginning of April - £50 was the charge. Probably could have shopped around but this Government and it's daily diet of lunacy has beaten me into lethargy.....
OT I know but I think 'Brave New World' and '1984' have come true.... I see no ships........

The statutory mot test fee for a MOT approved test station is £50.35. There is no VAT on this amount
An MOT approved testing station can charge less than this amount if they like.
A garage which sub contracts their MOT's to an MOT approved garage have to charge VAT on the MOT if they make a profit on it, unless they pass on the direct cost to the customer (disbursment).
Regards
Steve

Whatgoeshere - Yes, I've got an '07.
Yes - following the upgrade, my SonyEricsson K800i now syncs its phonebook to the car (and I can see the name of the caller for incoming calls on the radio and in the instrument panel display).
Also, following the rear mudflap upgrade I can now see out of the rear window when it's muddy
Hope this helps! Rob aka gringle

Spiderbaby... I've just had 45k service carried out at James Edwards Chester.
The basic cost of service was £146.20 plus parts and VAT = £332.17.
Don't know what they would charge to change brake fluid not just top up... but I had no problem with them and would happily take the car back.
(Despite Jag House only being 'down the road' I lost confidence with them) As you slide down the banister of life

Hello Chesters - can I ask whereabouts you got your 2nd service done and how long ago ? Wife is from Newcastle so could easily tie servicing in with a trip up there for that sort of saving vs the £500 quoate I got this morning.
