Hi All,
I am interested to know what everyone is paying for their servicing costs, from the first service onwards?
I am getting the feeling that dealers seem to be charging a variety of prices for the same work, is this the case?
Any prices & breakdown of charges would be helpful.
Regards
Steve

My first service was £275 and second was £309, thats up in Newcastle. Hopefully someone down your neck of the woods will give you a better idea. Even better a good dealer to do it. Arctic Frost Discovery 3 TDV6 SE, Active Rear Diff, Adaptive Head Lights, Tow Pack, Ebony Leather, Roof Rails, Mantec Guard. Tasmod Stainless Sill plates. Grabber AT's. Home made mud flaps. Side Steps back on until the next time.

If you are anywhere near Yeovil LR, they will usually do a service at reasonable cost( forum members especially), and I doubt if they'd try and stiff you either. You can also nip in and see Nick for some parts / accessories at relatively decent prices. 1st and 2nd services both around the £300 incl vat mark.

Do you have to use their insurance or can you insure the loaner on your own policy? Some policies allow you to add a temporary vehicle at no extra cost. That's what I do when mine is in for service/repair. As you slide down the banister of life

James Edwards give you the option of putting the loaner on your policy (They give you the reg and model details a couple of days before) or insuring with their insurance at £15.00 per day. My insurance company didn't charge any extra and I've had to do it twice this month... Once for the service and then for a few days when it had to go back in for further work to be carried out. Talking of servicing - our soon too have D3 has 16700 miles on the clock (06 56 reg). What would be the next service interval after this, and would you expect the dealer to do one (if one due now) before it's purchased?
cheers

The service interval is every 15,000 miles, but my last service was carried out at 39k as the service interval warning light came on. (This was 12months after the previous service) As you slide down the banister of life

Gringle - don't think you can escape the labour rates in the thames valley, we just picked up our Disco from Lancaster at the weekend so no services yet, but assuming its two hours labour, I would not be suprised if its £90 hour plus! Seems to me that you got billed more labour than others though... did they do any other work at the same time?
Note to self, call basingstoke and guilford dealers when service is due!
