I've just been quoted £447 for a 24,000 mile second service on my car! How on earth can that be justified?
Most of the service is devoted to check and inspect items.

Changing the engine oil and filter, draining the Fuel filter and bunging in a pollen filter is not exactly rocket science is it? I do understand that it is a complex bit of kit - but my wife has an 3.0 Td Quattro and I have been quoted £277 for that.
Both prices were main dealers.

At least Dick Turpin wore a mask!

Shop around & beat them up for a price match. I got my 2nd service for £350 all incl, they did quote much higher (can't remember how much though Embarassed ) Yeovil LR quoted £300 so that's a guage on what is a mega good price.

Does it have to be a LR dealer at this stage in the cars life?

ISTR that the law on warranty etc allows any garage to service it as long as they follow the correct schedule and use OE parts. Maybe a local LR specialist (non-franchised) could do it for a lot less. Many have the diagnostic systems for the software etc.

At low mileage all they probably do is oil change and inspect brakes etc.
