Stainless Steel Bolts

I was planning to remove my side steps temporarily and thought that it might be a good idea to replace the mounting bolts with Stainless ones. Does anyone know where I can get these and what size I need to ask for? I'm sure I've seen them mentioned on here before.

Screwfix Direct does quite a varied range of Stainless Steel bolts and fixings.

I've just found out that Screwfix have a number of 'trade counters' so you might be able to just go in and buy them. I'm planning to go for a small compressor next week. They seem to have the best deal around.
Just because you're paranoid doesn't mean that they're not out to get you.

Thanks for that. Screwfix has a trade place about 1 mile from where I work - I see it from the Motorway on the way home. Hadn't thought of them!

Thanks Ray for the dimensions. I'll pop in and get them. Mr. Green

If they don't have try here... Arrive the next day. Get all our SS nuts & bolts here as we need them. Very useful for small quantities. May not be cheap if you need 100's, never needed to find out!

No point using S/S fixings through M/S - they'll still corrode

They also gaul when using S/S bolts with S/S nuts. not a good idea at all.

Ask for stainless bolts coated in a sacrifical Zinc flake coating something like Geomet or Magni, they may look slightly duller to start with but will last much longer.

Or coat them in copperslip, forget you applied it then curse when you end up with it all over your skin and hands at a later date Thumbs Up
I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.
